Scott Bloomquist Masterpiece Replica

Postby christina@imrdirtcars.com on Sun Aug 09, 2009 5:54 am

The Scott Bloomquist cars are going to be the next batch to be completed.

Many parts will be specially fabricated for this particular car, because of this we will only be building these cars in this one batch. After that the Scott Bloomquist Masterpiece Replica will be unavailable.

We need to plan ahead for parts so if you are wanting a Scott Bloomquist Masterpiece Replica please be sure to fill out the waiting list form. You can follow the link directly below.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me, christina@imrdirtcars.com

Thanks!

If I already ordered one, do I need to fill it out again?

Thanks!

Hehe.. no no Tim.. you're all taken care of.

I just want to get all of the Bloomquist orders in. I probably won't be doing another Bloomquist batch after this one for some time... you're first on the list for a Bloomer I promise!

Sure thing. I don't usually mention customer's names directly in posts, as some may not want to be identified :)

Bloomquist 1999

Postby imrdirtcars on Tue Aug 11, 2009 5:23 am

Besides Scott's 2008 and 2009 cars, i've gotten some requests for his 1999 car, which is shown here:

I do have some reference photos of this car, and i should be able to do a really nice replica. I'll be carving a custom nose mold just for this car, since it was before the MD3 came to dirt racing.

Though i don't have any photos of the frame of the car, I do know it is a Warrior.

Since Bloomquist usually prefers underrail frames, I think i have the perfect reference photos of what's very likely under the sheet metal.

The following photo is one of the reference photos I have of a 1999 Warrior underrail. Bloomquist likely has a very similar setup on his car that year. I'll adjust all the rear bars to match, and move the battery over to the Warrior location as shown in the photo.

Since i'll be making so many custom parts for just this car, i'm hoping to capture all of the orders i can for this car at once.

I'd like to build all the Bloomquist cars at once.. The 2008 and 2009 versions will also have a number of custom fabricated parts as well, including special body panels.. Bloomquist has something a little different in the body department that will be really important to nail in the Masterpiece replicas.

That is really close to what I want except instead of yin/yang I want the pic of his face on right side of car. Is there anything written on back spoiler? I thought it wouldbe neat to have Red reflective "BLOOMQUIST" on it.

It looks like he had 3 variations of that car that.. one with nothing on the rear spoiler, one with Bloomquist on the spoiler, and one with Warrior.

I think the version with Bloomquist on the spoiler is from 98'

On a side note, I hope to make this car someday.. i'm going to see if i can do it justice in a Mud Flea, i think it would be popular.. This is my favorite Bloomquist car.

I like the nose on the top photo with UV2 smaller. The spoiler warrior or Bloomquist looks good. One of the best features on the 98 is the bottom of the car has a white valance at bottom. I definately want skull and crossbones on left and his face on right side of car (even thought the face came after 98 I think) and the red trim. I also definately want 4 wheel covers with skull and crossbone with "NO WEAK LINKS" on them. I also have an actual wheel cover from the 98 car if you need a shot of that. I have a poster Bloomquist had at his trailer of the 98 UV2 car and I've always thought it was the most bueatiful car I have ever seen. The poster was free and I still have it if you would like a pic of it. The car at a 45 degree angle so you can see nose and left side. It is brand new and looks great. I worry a little about the UV2 advertisement being he only had it a short time. I like the looks of if, but wonder if something else might be more appropriate. Any suggestions, i WOULD LOVE TO HEAR THEM. THANKS!

sounds great to me.. i'd love to check it out.. you can keep listing your preferences here so we'll have everything lined up when it comes to building the car.

We will begin the Bloomquist cars when we are done with our current batch. The current batch is going very well. A lot of progress is being made. At this time though we are unsure how long it will be before they are completed.

We certainly thank you all for your patience and we will keep you posted! :D
