New Right Rear images 6-30-2009

I didn't have enough mold rubber to cast the new right rear until today. It really adds some nice stagger to the car, though it's kind of hard to tell in the photos.

The right rear has a smaller block tread pattern because i didn't want all the tires exactly the same.. mainly because dirt cars rarely have the same tread on all 4 tires

Here it is next to the other size tire. Look closely at both wheels shown, and you can see more clearly how the finished wheels will look when compared with the prototype ones shown initially. The wheels are painted with a special modeling chrome called Alclad and really adds a realistic chrome finish to the wheels.. they don't look plastic at all. When contrasted with the aluminum beadlock and hub center.. the wheels really pop now.

The suspension works fantastic. The body rolls over, and as you can see in these two photos, the left rear tucks up underneath the body as it gets on the bars.

Next Up?

Now it's time to focus full attention on the powerplant that will be mounted up in the frame.

The motor pullies have been ordered.. they are turned aluminum and will look nice.

The final set of parts i'll have made is the air cleaner, which will be a 3-piece assembly, and the collectors for the ends of the manifold.

I really think that's all that i'll need.. I may add a tank or two with the order.. maybe the power steering reservoir, and the rear end oil cooler.. i'll see how it all goes.
