Well, there's good news and bad news.
The good news is.. the silkscreen system works GREAT... so fluorescent decals are much easier now.. and i don't have the same limitations i did in the past.
I got the fluorescent paints a couple days ago and finally opened the kit.. It took a few tries to get everything right, but i've successfully ran a few sheets of fluorescent orange and they look awesome.. the orange is so bright it's almost blinding!
The bad news is... I wanted to see how the Moyer body would look with the fluoro orange on it. so i printed out a set of decals and put them in place... and the red was just too dark.. it looked ok bare red, but when i put on the decals the red looked almost maroon.. which wasn't going to work.
So i tossed everything into an acetone bath.. Acetone is great because the paint falls right off in minutes back to the shiny brass.
I'll prime and paint them again tonight.
The red i have is actually a dead perfect match, I used the Dupont Color codes straight from Performance Bodies to get the paint mixed, but I painted the red right over a dark grey primer. This version i'm going to paint over a white undercoat and it will brighten it up significantly.
Moments like that are why I usually don't set a target for completion on the cars.. one day the model can be sailing along great, and suddenly I have to fix something that takes days.
Live and learn as they say, i'm always improving how i'm doing things in an ongoing process.
